Where to park during F1 in Montréal? Rates, zones and practical tips

Downtown: the prime zone

The block bordered by Sherbrooke, René-Lévesque, Peel and Saint-Laurent has the best options. This is where the six Pema garages sit, all under 5 minutes' walk from a metro station that connects directly to Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve via the Yellow Line.

Old Port: popular but risky

Loved for its vibe, the Old Port sees daily rates climb to $50 or $70 during the Grand Prix, with no guaranteed spot. Tow-away zones are everywhere (see our dedicated guide) and access via Champ-de-Mars or Place-d'Armes metro to Jean-Drapeau is less direct.

Plateau, Mile End, Hochelaga: forget about it

Residential streets require a resident parking permit (SRRR). Without a sticker, you get towed in under two hours. The rare public garages are full from Thursday evening.

Île Sainte-Hélène: off-limits to the public

During the three days of the Grand Prix, vehicle access to Jean-Drapeau is strictly limited to accredited vehicles. You must reach the circuit by metro, official shuttle or bike via Concorde Bridge.

Our recommendation

• 1000 de la Gauchetière — Bonaventure metro, 25 min door-to-door to the circuit.
• Place Victoria — Square-Victoria–OACI metro, 27 min door-to-door.
• Secondary Pema garages — every other option under 35 min from the circuit.
